Some of the simplest and most comforting recipes I have found (and made) are those which combine simplicity and heartiness – one-pan meals, slow-simmered sauces, and other dishes that make your home smell warm and inviting. I enjoy making recipes which allow the quality of the ingredients to stand out, such as a rustic vegetable skillet with fresh herbs, or a well-balanced stir-fry. These types of recipes tell their own little story about home cooking; they’re simple to prepare, delicious to taste, and even better when eaten at the same time as others.
My first attempt at Indian food started with a jar of Dopiaza sauce, pork chops and fresh mushrooms. While it turned out well and there were no leftovers, I do plan to make a few tweaks on future attempts.
This favorite recipe is quick and simple and makes enough to feed the whole family. It’s creamy texture pairs well with biscuits or even just a slice of buttered bread.
